Covid and Facemasks

Covid and Facemasks

As you will know from your regular dental visits we all wear FFP2 and FFP3 respirator masks which offer a high level of protection during the pandemic. The Dental Council Guidance always requires us to wear as a minimum surgical grade masks when providing dental treatment and now during the pandemic we have moved to the higher protection respirator masks. The HSE website provides some very good advice to us all on masks and is well worth a read.

Many of our patients are elderly and many have attended for dental care during the pandemic and a visit to the dentist is one of the few if any times some of our elderly patients have actually left their homes. It is a very difficult time for all and really good quality masks are important for the elderly and medically vunerable patient. We have a limited supply of respirator masks in our Practices. If you are in a high risk Covid Group and are a regular patient we would be very happy to give you a respirator mask during your dental treatment visit with us during these times. Just ask and we would be happy to help. Stay safe and we look forward to us all beating Covid for good this year.
